OPEN WATER diver

Learn the basics of becoming a safe diver. Topics include equipment, water skills, physics, physiology, trip planning and more. Minimum age: 15 for open water diver, 10 for junior diver. Purchase of course materials reserves your place in class.

Group Class $195

This class typically has 6-8 people. Price includes tuition, course materials, classroom and pool instruction, and use of regulators, gauges, buoyancy compensator, tanks and weights. Weeknight or weekend options are available.

Equipment Requirements

To facilitate maximum skill development and comfort underwater, you will need to supply your own mask, snorkel, fins, boots and anti-fog solution. The purchase of your own mouthpieces is recommended. All gear must be of SCUBA quality. Use of rental BC’s, Weight Belts, tanks and regulators are included in the open water course fee. Purchasing and using your own gear, however, will greatly enhance your enjoyment and comfort during the course!

Open Water Evaluation / Checkout Dives

After successful completion of the academic and pool training you will need to demonstrate your proficiency during four open water dives. We have several options to choose from for your evaluation dives.

PADI Referral or Universal Referral

This option allows divers to arrange their own evaluation dives to correspond with a scheduled vacation. Documentation of classroom and pool training will be provided for you to bring to any PADI instructor. Arrangements need to be made with the evaluating instructor in advance. We will assist you in any way we can with making these arrangements. Payment for the evaluation dives will be paid to the instructor or facility providing the evaluation and will vary by location.
